Proposed in Uttar Pradesh as a joint venture with INI Studio, the Museum of Urbanism is designed to take visitors on an immersive journey through the evolution of cities, from ancient civilizations to modern urban landscapes. The experience begins with the origins of urbanization, showcasing the world’s oldest living city, the 16 Mahajanpadas, and Harappan settlements discovered in Arampur. Moving forward, visitors explore the thriving cities under the Gupta Dynasty, Harshavardhan’s rule, and the Mughal Sultanate, followed by the impact of colonial influences on urban development.
The narrative continues with the evolution of modern cities like Noida, Lucknow, and Prayagraj, highlighting their transformation into economic and cultural hubs. A dedicated gallery addresses urban challenges, presenting innovative solutions for sustainable and inclusive growth. The final two galleries shift the focus to the role of citizens in shaping the future, inspiring collective responsibility in building resilient, smart, and people-centric cities. Designed as an engaging and educational experience, the Museum of Urbanism offers a comprehensive look at the past, present, and future of Uttar Pradesh’s urban landscape.
